The Sama Dance Academy was established in 1990 with the objective of teaching traditional dance to Sri Lankan children. Students from age seven onwards study dance in week-end classes.

The other wing of the academy focuses on training young dancers for stage purpose, with modern dance techniques. The academy also offers traditional dance courses for foreign students. Our teachers are also invited to teach Sri Lankan dance in other countries. The academy has conducted such short term courses in Europe and conducted class in Sri Lanka for Norwegian students.
